This prestigious scholarship aims to attract and support exceptional international talents to pursue undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs at SDU. The scholarship is fully funded, covering tuition, accommodation, and living expenses for selected students.

Scholarship Categories
The SDU Scholarship is available in two categories:
- Full Scholarship: Covers tuition fees, provides a monthly stipend, offers free accommodation, and includes comprehensive medical insurance.
- Partial Scholarship: Covers tuition fees and provides comprehensive medical insurance.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Citizenship: Must be a non-Chinese citizen in good physical and mental health.
Educational Background & Age:
- Undergraduate Programs: High school diploma or equivalent; under 25 years old.
- Master’s Programs: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; under 35 years old.
- Doctoral Programs: Master’s degree or equivalent; under 40 years old.
- Academic Excellence: Must have an excellent academic record and research potential.
Language Proficiency:
- For Chinese-Taught Programs: HSK Level 5 (minimum score of 180 for undergraduates) and HSK Level 6 (minimum score of 180 for postgraduates).
- For English-Taught Programs: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 (or equivalent). Exemptions apply to native English speakers or students who studied in English.
- Scholarship Exclusivity: Applicants cannot receive multiple Chinese government scholarships simultaneously.
Application Timeline
- Application Deadline: April 1, 2025
- Result Notification: By August 1, 2025
Application Procedure
Online Application: Complete the application through the SDU Online Application System for International Students: http://www.apply.sdu.edu.cn.
Application Fee: Upon receiving a pre-admission email, pay a non-refundable application fee of 400 RMB.
Required Documents:
- Completed SDU Scholarship Application Form.
- Academic transcripts and certificates.
- Language proficiency test results.
- Research proposal or study plan.
- Two academic recommendation letters.
- Copy of passport.
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
Selection Process:
Applications will be evaluated based on academic achievements, research potential, and overall suitability for the chosen program. Successful candidates will be notified via email by August 1, 2025.
Additional Information:
Registration: Scholarship recipients must register at SDU on the specified date in the admission letter. Failure to register on time without prior approval will result in scholarship cancellation.
Annual Review: Continuation of the scholarship is subject to an annual review of the student’s academic performance and conduct.
